Tour Guide at Iona College
Class of 2019

Secondary Major: Psychology
When I went on a tour at Iona, my tour guide was able to say hello to so many people, and it made me feel at ease knowing that Iona was truly a community. Everyone here cares for each other, and everyone wants you to, and will help you succeed. Also, I am only about an hour and a half from home, so I am able to go home if I need to, but still have a sense of independence. The city is also a short thirty minute train ride, and that opens up so many opportunities for Iona students.
Iona is really big on service, and giving back within the community, and around the world. This year especially I have started to volunteer for more service opportunities, and even though sometimes it seems that what you are doing is small, the people you are helping really appreciate it, and it is easy to see that.
It's really hard for me to pick just one memorable experience, because I have made so many here. I feel like my most memorable moments here are the ones that I have made with my new friends from college. I never imagined I would have the great friends that I do, and most memories that I make with them are memorable!
My favorite place on campus is one of our silent study rooms in the library called 'The Hogwarts Room". It sounds really nerdy, but I like to go there because it helps me focus, and if I have a lot going on, I know going there will calm me down, and help me focus on what I need to do.
