When looking for colleges, I wanted to be close to New York City, but still wanted a real campus experience and that sense of community. Looking for all that, I came across Iona. I can honestly say that I knew where I would end up the minute I stepped foot on this campus. The atmosphere was so friendly, and the people were so welcoming - I knew it was the place for me.
The "Harry Potter" room in the Ryan Library! I love going there to really focus on myself and my school work. It's such a calming and productive environment.
I really cherish each and every friend I have made so far, and all of our daily adventures together. I have met so many different and amazing people, it's almost hard to remember what life was like before them! Every day, I learn something new from those around me, and I always have people to turn to, to laugh with and to smile with. Having a close knit college experience where you get to live with some of your best friends, yet there's more down the hall and even more just a few floors below you is something so valuable.
Volunteering. In high school, I was involved in a community service club - something I really loved doing. So far at Iona, I've been able to participate in quite a few volunteer opportunities. In the upcoming semesters, I'm looking forward to getting involved even more, and taking part in the amazing mission trips and projects Iona has to offer!
