My best memory at Iona so far was when I went to Zambia Africa on a mission trip. We taught at both primary and secondary schools and visited homes in the area. It was life changing to help those kids. I can't speak about how incredible it was. it was life changing and affirming. I already can't wait to go back.
I chose Iona college because it felt like home. I was intrigued by all the opportunities that Iona offered me. Originally i was lost at Iona and wasn't sure where i could fit in. However, during my freshman year i got involved in as many clubs as i possibly could. The more I got involved the more people I met, and I realized I was where I needed to be.
At Iona I have taken advantage of every opportunity to help all those who are disabled. Through best buddies, trips to cerebral palsy center of westchester visits or all the options given by mission and ministry I have received so many opportunity to help improve the world. I truly feel through all these events given I have managed to begin to move the world.
I have spent many a hour sitting on the hill in front of east hall. The sun, the wind and the grass makes me feel as though all of my problems have slipped away.
